NGUNDU — Five people are feared dead while several others reportedly sustained serious injuries following a head-on collision along the Ngundu-Tanganda Highway.

The accident occurred about an hour ago at a known accident black spot in Ngundu, where churches reportedly conducted cleansing prayers yesterday.

Sources said the crash involved a lorry and a locally operated Toyota Box vehicle. The driver of the Toyota Box is among those suspected to have died in the accident.

Several injured victims are believed to have suffered broken limbs and other injuries, although the full extent of the casualties was not immediately clear.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear, while authorities are expected to provide further details.
