By A Correspondent-Former model Marry Mubaiwa has branded Vice President Constantino Chiwenga as cruel and unfit to be President of Zimbabwe, following the collapse of her attempted murder case.

Speaking outside court after Harare Regional Magistrate Musaiona Shortgame on Tuesday granted an application to remove her from further remand, Mubaiwa said the case had been used to punish her.

Harare Regional Magistrate Musaiona Shortgame on Tuesday removed Marry Mubaiwa from further remand in a case linked to an alleged attempt to murder Chiwenga in 2019, meaning the prosecution will have to proceed by way of summons if it intends to pursue the case.

Speaking to ZimEye’s Simba Chikanza on Tuesday, Mubaiwa questioned Chiwenga’s presidential ambitions.

“Why was he punishing me for, he took everything from me and that’s the person who wants to be a President?” she said.

“What kind of President would he become someone who does unjust things like that?” Mubaiwa said.

Mubaiwa maintained she never attempted to kill Chiwenga and said President Emmerson Mnangagwa knows the truth.

“The President knows the truth, I never attempted to kill Constantino… I know a lot soldiers were sent to the military prison,” she said.

She also alleged violation of her privacy during the saga.

“Some men walked into my house while I was taking a shower,” Mubaiwa said.
