By A Correspondent| Hon Johnson Matambo, Member of Parliament for Kuwadzana West Constituency, has spoken on breast cancer awareness as the world concludes Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

He said community mobilization on the disease will continue beyond October.

“As we conclude the month going forward community mobilization continues,” Hon Matambo said.

This year’s global commemorations were held under the theme “Every story is unique, every journey matters,” as designated by the World Health Organization.

According to the WHO, the 2026 theme focuses on individual experiences, noting that no two breast cancer diagnoses, treatment plans or emotional paths are identical.

It also emphasizes the need for equitable care, calling for compassionate, timely and quality care for everyone, regardless of geography or background.

The month of October is annually observed as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, running from October 1 to 31, with various organizations also promoting complementary messages such as “Awareness is just the beginning” to encourage action beyond awareness.
