Tinotenda Hove — Citizens leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has issued a sharp rebuke to journalist Hopewell Chin’ono, challenging him to uphold factual and balanced journalism.

In a strongly worded statement on Wednesday, Chamisa accused Chin’ono of promoting what he described as false narratives and misinformation.

Chamisa said journalists have a responsibility to report verified facts rather than information he believes amounts to fiction.

“Dear Hopewell Chin’ono, a proper and balanced journalist is a truth-teller who reports facts, not fiction,” Chamisa said.

He also accused Chin’ono of crossing the line between journalism and propaganda, urging him to maintain professional standards in his reporting.

“Be a journalist, not a propagandist who peddles lies and misinformation to serve the interests of the oppressors,” Chamisa said.

Chamisa further expressed frustration over what he described as Chin’ono’s continued conduct, indicating that he had reached a point where he was no longer prepared to tolerate it.
“I have tolerated your tomfoolery for far too long. Enough is enough,” he said.

Chamisa concluded his statement by saying, “Thank you for your time.”
The comments add to the ongoing public debate over journalism, political narratives and the responsibility of media personalities to distinguish factual reporting from political commentary.
