Tinotenda Hove – The Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) of Zimbabwe has announced the death of Rev. Chitanda, a former Overseer of the Chinhoyi Province. The church confirmed the news on Friday, describing his passing as a major loss to the entire AFM community.
In its statement, the church said, “It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden promotion to Glory of our dear father, Rev. Chitanda, the former Overseer of Chinhoyi Province this morning. Indeed he was a great Servant of God.”
The announcement also offered comfort to those affected, noting, “May the good Lord comfort Mother Chitanda, Family, Relatives and Friends, the entire AFM of Zimbabwe family and the whole ecumenical Church Fraternity in Chinhoyi and Zimbabwe at large. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
AFM General Secretary Rev. Dr N. Nhira said funeral details will be shared soon, stating, “We will be kept updated on the funeral arrangements by the Chinhoyi Province.”
Rev. Chitanda is remembered as a devoted servant of the church and a respected leader within the AFM and the broader Christian community.
