Tinotenda Hove – Supreme Court Judge Justice Feliciah Chatukuta has died at the age of 63. She passed away in Harare on Saturday, 22 November 2025, reportedly following a cardiac arrest.
In a statement, the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) confirmed her death, noting that Chief Justice Luke Malaba and the entire judiciary were mourning the loss of an esteemed jurist. The JSC said:
“The Chief Justice of Zimbabwe and Chairperson of the Judicial Service Commission, Hon. Justice Luke Malaba; the Judicial Service Commissioners; the Senior Judge of the Supreme Court; Judges and Magistrates; the Secretary of the Judicial Service Commission; and all members of the Judicial Service would like to express deepest condolences to the Chatukuta family on the passing on of Supreme Court Judge Honourable Justice Feliciah Chatukuta in Harare on Saturday 22 November 2025.”
Justice Chatukuta joined the High Court bench on 29 August 2005, serving for 16 years before being elevated to the Supreme Court on 3 June 2021.
She held a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Zimbabwe, obtained in 1985, and previously worked as a Public Prosecutor, a part-time lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe, and a director at the Legal Aid Directorate.
