Chitungwiza- Residents of Chitungwiza South Constituency are witnessing the tangible benefits of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), as local legislator Maxwell Mavhunga has overseen the completion of several key projects aimed at improving security, education, and access to clean water.

The most significant project completed is a new perimeter wall and security lights at the Seke South Clinic in Unit L.

This upgrade is expected to greatly enhance the safety and security of the medical facility, protecting both staff and patients, as well as vital medical equipment and supplies.

In the education sector, two primary schools have received substantial support. Dudzai Primary School in Unit D was a major beneficiary, receiving a donation of 100 chairs, 100 desks, and additional chairs for its staff room.

Similarly, Seke 8 Primary School in Unit J was equipped with 100 new chairs and 100 new desks, addressing critical infrastructure needs for learners.

“These projects are a direct response to the needs expressed by the community,” said a representative from Hon. Mavhunga’s office. “Ensuring our children have a proper learning environment and that our healthcare facilities are secure are fundamental to the development of Chitungwiza South.”

A project to provide clean water is also nearing completion. A new borehole is being constructed in Unit M and is currently awaiting its final commissioning.

In a statement, it was confirmed that the clinic wall and the school furniture were fully funded through the CDF. However, Hon. Adv. Mavhunga has personally committed to sourcing additional funds to ensure the speedy completion and commissioning of the Unit M borehole.

Residents who spoke to ZimCitizen hailed the legislator for the community projects which they said if continued, had the potential to improve citizens’ standard of living.

“We applaud our MP for his work and servant leadership. He listened to our priorities and is working towards ensuring that they are fulfilled,” said Mike Mutape from Unit J.

Gogo Matope from Unit M said the community borehole would alleviate water challenges in the community especially for the elderly.

The rollout of these projects signals a significant step in the constituency’s development, with residents hopeful for continued improvements under the CDF initiative.
