Tinotenda Hove – The ruling party, ZANU-PF, has intensified its nationwide cell verification exercise, a move critics say is aimed at tightening internal control and reinforcing political loyalty ahead of future electoral battles.

The latest verification process was conducted at Precabe Farm in Kwekwe, a property linked to Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The exercise, which is reportedly taking place across the country, has raised concerns among observers who view it as part of a broader strategy to strengthen the party’s grassroots surveillance and mobilization structures.

At Precabe Farm in Dambudzo 1 Cell, Politburo member Engineer Daniel Mackenzie and Cell Chairperson Liberty Siziba stressed the importance of the cell structure as the foundation of ZANU-PF.

However, critics argue that while millions of Zimbabweans struggle with inflation, unemployment, and declining public services, the ruling party appears more focused on internal political consolidation than addressing urgent national challenges.

The nationwide verification campaign has further fueled debate over ZANU-PF’s priorities, with opponents accusing the party of prioritizing power retention over meaningful solutions to citizens’ daily hardships.
