Tinotenda Hove- The legal proceedings involving alleged triple murder suspect Ndodana Tshuma have been delayed after the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court postponed one of his matters to Wednesday, 22 July, while South African authorities verify his immigration and legal status.
Tshuma appeared before the court on Monday in connection with a charge of possessing an unlicensed firearm.
The weapon was allegedly recovered during his arrest in Kensington last Friday.
Investigators are also examining whether the firearm was intended to be used by Tshuma to take his own life, although no official findings have been made regarding that line of inquiry.
In addition to the firearm case, Tshuma is scheduled to appear in a separate courtroom for extradition proceedings linked to allegations that he is wanted in connection with a triple murder case.
The postponement means Tshuma will remain before the South African courts while authorities complete the verification process and the legal matters continue.
