Tinotenda Hove – Operations at the Masvingo passport office complex have been severely affected by a prolonged water outage that has left the facility without running water for the past two weeks, creating difficult conditions for both workers and members of the public.

Sources at the complex said the lack of water has rendered toilet facilities unusable, raising concerns over sanitation and hygiene within the government building, which accommodates several departments.

The latest disruption has added to a series of service delivery challenges that have plagued the complex in recent years. While officials have previously grappled with electricity interruptions, insiders say the current water crisis has had a more immediate impact on daily activities.

Staff members and visitors are reportedly being forced to endure unsanitary conditions as authorities work to address the problem.

The prolonged outage has also sparked concerns about the effect on service delivery at one of Masvingo’s key government administrative centres.

When approached for comment, officials at the complex declined to discuss the matter. One official said, “You want to film us? Please leave this place, we are not allowed to comment.”
