Tinotenda Hove – The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed a tragic road traffic accident involving a meat-laden truck that went viral on social media. The fatal crash occurred at the 115-kilometre peg along the Masvingo–Beitbridge Road on 17 November 2025 at around 0900 hours.

According to police, the accident happened when a Howo tipper truck collided head-on with a Surrey Abattoir truck. The impact left both drivers seriously injured, and they were immediately rushed to Neshuro Hospital for treatment.

However, the driver of the Surrey Abattoir truck died upon admission, while the other driver remains hospitalised.

Police say investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing and have urged motorists to exercise caution on the busy highway.
