Tinotenda Hove- Social media personality and martial arts instructor Tendai Humbasha Maduwa, popularly known as Sensei Tendai, has been granted US$200 bail after appearing before a Bulawayo Provincial Resident Magistrate, Mr Themba Chimiso, on allegations of assaulting two Tendy Three Investments (TTI) parking marshals.

Maduwa appeared in court yesterday as the assault case, which attracted considerable attention online following the circulation of a video of the incident, came before the court.

The allegations arise from a confrontation involving Maduwa and two TTI parking marshals in Bulawayo’s central business district on August 21.

The incident reportedly occurred along Fife Street near the National Railways of Zimbabwe building.
The State alleges that Maduwa was attempting to park when one of the marshals approached his vehicle and knocked on the window. The marshal allegedly informed him that the vehicle had been clamped.

A disagreement then reportedly broke out between Maduwa and the parking officials before the situation escalated into an alleged physical confrontation, part of which was captured on video and subsequently circulated widely on social media platforms.

Following the court appearance, Magistrate Chimiso granted Maduwa US$200 bail and remanded the matter to September 8 for trial.

The State was represented by Mr Samuel Mpofu, while Maduwa was represented by Mr Dominic Moyo of Tashaya Law Chambers.

Maduwa remains presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
