Tinotenda Hove- Renowned Malian star Salif Keita is set to take centre stage at this year’s Legends Night Concert, scheduled for 26 August at Alexander Sports Club in Harare.
Billed as the “Golden Voice of Africa”, Keita will lead a lineup that blends international acclaim with home-grown talent for the annual showcase of classic African music.
The event is known for bringing veteran performers and timeless hits back to live audiences, and this edition is no different.
Joseph “Sax” Chinouriri, founder of the Intotal Band, said bringing Keita to Zimbabwe underlines the concert’s mission to pay tribute to Africa’s music icons.
“Salif Keita is regarded as one of Africa’s greatest voices. His powerful vocals, timeless songs and electric stage presence have earned him fans across Africa and the world, and sealed his status as a world music legend. What better way to honor our legends than to have one of the world’s biggest icons perform live here? Audiences can also expect sets from greats like Leonard Zhakata and several other artists,” he said.
Now in its annual run, Legends Night has grown into one of Zimbabwe’s major music dates, pulling crowds from different generations who come to relive classic songs performed by iconic musicians.
