Tinotenda Hove – A disagreement over a gospel music playlist turned violent at Shooters Bottle Store in Solomio Park on Thursday, resulting in one fatality and three hospitalizations.

Tendai Mubiya, 30, from Ruwa, died after being stabbed in the neck during a confrontation. Police allege that 35-year-old Trymore Ndebele was responsible for the fatal blow.

The clash also left the establishment’s owner, 28-year-old Luckmore Kazingizi, with a deep chest injury, while his companion Collen Tomu, 30, suffered a serious back wound. A third individual was also hurt. All three were transported to Parirenyatwa Hospital for treatment.

Eyewitness accounts say the incident started while Mubiya was playing snooker and having drinks with Ndebele and 25-year-old Peace Dube. Friction began when other customers asked barmaid Brenda to switch the music, complaining that only gospel songs were playing from Ndebele and Dube’s phone.

The pair allegedly disconnected the Bluetooth and left the premises briefly. When they came back, a fight involving four men broke out. Ndebele is accused of drawing a knife and stabbing Mubiya during the brawl.

Patrons managed to overpower the suspects before police arrived and made arrests. Bar manager Faith Kabasa confirmed that Kazingizi and Tomu remain under medical care.
