Tinotenda Hove- Four people have died and 12 others sustained injuries following a horrific head-on collision along the Roy–Buffalo Range Road.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the fatal accident occurred at the 120-kilometre peg on Friday, 28 August 2026, at around 8pm.
“The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred at the 120 kilometre peg along Roy–Buffalo Range Road on 28/08/26 at approximately 2000 hours,” police said.
The accident involved a Toyota Hilux that was travelling towards Zaka with nine passengers and a Nissan AD Van travelling in the opposite direction towards Chiredzi with five passengers.
The two vehicles reportedly collided head-on, resulting in the deaths of four people and injuries to 12 others.
“The bodies of the victims were conveyed to the Chiredzi General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem,” the police said.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are being investigated by police.
