Tinotenda Hove- Citizens leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has urged his supporters to remain hopeful and patient amid the country’s deepening social and political challenges, reminding them that faith and endurance remain key in times of uncertainty.

In his Sunday message, Chamisa encouraged Zimbabweans not to despair, stressing that waiting is not a sign of weakness but a necessary process of preparation and growth.

“Prepare… always be ready. You have to be ready!” he said. “In waiting, you are working. You are working the perfect way and will of God.”

Drawing inspiration from the biblical story of David, Chamisa highlighted that even those destined for greatness must first go through seasons of delay. “David was no stranger to the wait. He was chosen king, and yet he had to wait even when Saul was already rejected, dethroned and gone. As jealousy and vitriol grew, David would have to wait even longer for the throne that was already assured,” he explained.

The Citizens leader said that waiting is part of the journey of transformation and leadership. “Waiting isn’t wasted when God is in it. Waiting is a classroom where character is moulded, purpose refined and faith is forged,” said Chamisa.

He reminded his followers that trials and delays are meant to test commitment and authenticity. “The longer you wait, the more you see who is authentic and who isn’t. Waiting isn’t just about what you’re hoping for; it’s about what’s coming, what its impact would mean and the character it would require,” he said.

Chamisa reassured the nation that patience will ultimately pay off. “Make no mistake, waiting is not a waste. It is an investment into what’s coming. The good thing is that the wait is not forever—it is the perfect will of God,” he said.

He urged Zimbabweans not to be consumed by fear or anxiety, saying that divine timing always prevails. “Yes, we may be anxious, worried and suffering. But we are all vessels in the act, plan and timing of the Maker. Our timing is not God’s timing. He who promised us is faithful. He will consummate His Word and fulfil His promise,” Chamisa concluded.

“Blessed Sunday,” he added.
