Tinotenda Hove – Controversial Zanu PF-linked businessman Wicknell Chivayo on Saturday announced that he would reward a Dynamos FC supporter with a Toyota Aqua and US$10 000 after the fan publicly appealed for a team bus during a radio programme on Capitalk FM two weeks ago.
Chivayo made the announcement in a lengthy statement in which he also spoke about plans to financially assist a group of 30 people through interest-free loans.
“Aiwa muchitendei Baba asi handisati ndawana ma registration details ebhazi and mari inozouya pamwe chete ne bhazi,” said Chivayo.
He added: “Mukomana weku fona ku radio station ane kodzero yeku pihwawo AQUA yake ne 10 thousand USD musi umwe chete iwowo watichaita handover.”
The businessman further revealed that, following consultations with his wife and after money allegedly returned to his lawyer, he had decided to extend financial assistance to 30 individuals.
“Ndichiri pa nyaya ye ku radio station vana vaye 30 after consultations with my wife and the 27000 being returned to my Lawyer I have decided to offer them a loan of 2000 usd each,” he said.
According to Chivayo, the loans would be interest-free and repayable over a 10-year period, with beneficiaries only expected to begin repayments in 2031.
“The loan will be interest free and payable over 10 years with a grace period of 5 years. This means they will only start paying me back in 2031 and their monthly installment will be 33 dollars for 10 years till 2036,” he said.
He also insisted that no collateral or formal agreements would be required because of the relatively small amounts involved.
“This is a very small transaction so no security is required and no loan agreement will be signed,” Chivayo said.
He concluded by saying those interested should communicate through Phathisani so that arrangements for disbursement could be made outside working hours and work premises.
“If any of them are interested they can advise PHATHISANI and I will mobilize the funds and hand it over to them outside working hours and work premises. I THANK YOU,” he said.
