Tinotenda Hove – In a fiery statement issued on Tuesday, citizens’ leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa delivered a stern caution to President Emmerson Mnangagwa and a clique of Zanu PF looters—commonly referred to by critics as Zvigananda—warning them against pushing Zimbabweans beyond their breaking point.

Chamisa did not mince his words as he addressed what he described as the growing oppression and mistreatment of ordinary citizens.

“Dear Oppressors, Do not tempt the people of Zimbabwe. A cornered animal will fight, and a nation pushed too far will find its strength,” he said, stressing that leadership must never underestimate the resilience of those they suppress.

He added that the ruling elite’s greed is fuelling mounting anger across the country. “Do not underestimate those you believe have no way out. When a few eat everything while the many go hungry, the imbalance becomes impossible to ignore.”

Chamisa warned that even those perceived as powerless can respond with unexpected force when pushed too far. “Even the smallest creature, when trapped, shows its claws. Even a cat in a sack is dangerous,” he said.

He further cautioned that the authorities’ actions have crossed a dangerous line. “Your experiment has gone too far. Respect the people, before desperation gives rise to a force you cannot control.”

Chamisa ended with a Shona proverb emphasising urgency: “Miswai akuruma nzeve ane hanya nenyika!”

His message serves as a powerful warning to Mnangagwa, Zvigananda, and those he accuses of undermining the will of the people, signalling that Zimbabweans may not remain silent in the face of continued injustice.
