Business Correspondent -Barmlo Investments is positioning its construction operations to help homeowners and small-scale developers reduce building costs while maintaining consistent concrete quality.

The company, founded by Dr Banabasi Marambire who is the visionary of Barmlo Investments, says it has invested in modern concrete mixing equipment that allows it to produce properly and uniformly mixed concrete directly at construction sites.

In a statement last week, the company said the move is aimed at addressing one of the challenges commonly faced by smaller construction projects, where builders often opt to mix concrete by hand because ready-mix concrete can be expensive.

Barmlo Investments said while ready-mix concrete is generally recommended for its consistency and controlled quality, its cost can make it less accessible to homeowners undertaking smaller residential projects.

“However, hand-mixed concrete does not always guarantee uniform quality and consistent strength throughout the structure,” the company said.

According to Barmlo, its investment in modern mixing equipment provides an alternative by allowing smaller projects to access machine-mixed concrete without necessarily incurring the higher costs associated with conventional ready-mix concrete.

The company said machine mixing also improves efficiency by allowing concrete to be produced more consistently at the construction site, potentially reducing delays and making the building process easier to manage.
