Tinotenda Hove – The First Lady, H.E. Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa, has paid tribute to National Hero Mutumwa Paul Mwazha, who passed away last week at the age of 107. His burial is scheduled for Sunday in Chikomba District.
Dr Mnangagwa described Archbishop Mwazha as “a towering spiritual figure whose long life was marked by devotion, humility, and service to communities across Zimbabwe.” She highlighted his role in fostering unity, strengthening families, and promoting a culture of peace and disciplined faith among believers.
Reflecting on his legacy, she said: “May his example continue to inspire our nation. We pray for comfort and strength for his family and church as they uphold the values he lived by throughout his remarkable journey.”
Observers, however, were quick to dismiss the gesture as political grandstanding, questioning the timing and nature of the tribute.
