Tinotenda Hove – Controversial Zanu PF businessman Wicknell Chivayo has announced that Zimbabwean Sungura musician Taruvinga Manjokota, popularly known as Sugar Sugar, will receive a brand-new vehicle and US$10,000 cash following the success of his hit song “Todya Mudododo”.

Chivayo made the announcement on Thursday after sharing a video of his children dancing and enjoying the popular song.

In his message, Chivayo said the performance by his children had touched him and demonstrated the impact that creative work can have across generations.

“Watching this video of MY KIDS DANCING AND ENJOYING ‘TODYA MUDODODO’ genuinely touched my heart,” Chivayo said.
He added that his son had also developed a fondness for the song and would sometimes wake him up asking to listen to it.

“My son sometimes wakes me up early in the morning saying, ‘Daddy, I miss playing the song…dododo…Daddy please let’s play it!’ And before I know it, the song is playing, we are all dancing, laughing and enjoying ourselves as a family,” he said.

Chivayo went on to praise Sugar for producing a song that had resonated with both adults and children.

“This is the power of CREATIVE ART. When you compose a song that crosses generations to the extent that our little children know it, request it and dance to it, then surely that talent cannot simply be ignored,” he said.

“Well done to you my dear brother TARUVINGA MANJOKOTA aka SUGAR SUGAR, you composed a MASTERPIECE.”

Chivayo said music had also become a source of entertainment and motivation for him, particularly during difficult moments.

“Music is truly one of the best medicines in life. Even when I am having a difficult day or I am not in the best of moods, the moment I play TODYA MUDODODO, everything changes,” he said.

“My mood immediately lifts, the energy comes back and suddenly I am ready to get into WORK MODE. That is the inspiration and happiness your music brings into our lives.”

He then announced the multimillion-dollar-style reward, instructing Sugar Sugar to collect a new vehicle from Enterprise Car Sales.

“Against this background, MUKOMA SUGAR SUGAR, please go and see MADZIBABA CHIPAGA at ENTERPRISE CAR SALES next week Wednesday and collect your BRAND-NEW 2026 TOYOTA FORTUNER 2.4 GD-6, fully paid for and ready for collection,” Chivayo said.

“You will also receive US$10,000 CASH FOR FUEL.”

Chivayo described the gesture as his way of thanking the musician for producing a song that had brought entertainment to his family and Zimbabweans more broadly.

“WELL DONE, MY BROTHER. This is simply my way of saying THANK YOU for composing a masterpiece that continues to entertain us and now even has our children dancing,” he said.

“Continue composing beautiful music, continue inspiring us and continue entertaining Zimbabweans for many more years.”

Chivayo concluded his message with a reference to the song’s popular refrain, writing: “TODYA MUDODODO…DODODO!!!”
