Mutaretu – Manica Diamonds FC president Evance Kamombo has confidently declared victory ahead of today’s Premier League match against Agama Football Club at Sakubva Stadium, revealing that a US$35,000 incentive from legislator Scott Sakupwanya awaits his players if they win.

In a video statement released Friday, Kamombo said the Manicaland-based side is “the pride of Manicaland” with no room for failure, as he rallied local stakeholders to back the club’s revival and announced new investment packages.

“I guarantee you, Manica Diamonds is not going anywhere—it is going to compete strongly, and I know by the end of this season we will be in the top ten of our local premier league,” Kamombo said. “If you are not careful, we will be in the top five.”

The club president singled out businessman and legislator Scott Sakupwanya for his pledge. “He promised to put US$35,000 into the club if we win in our match tomorrow at Sakubva Stadium. We thank him so much,” Kamombo said.

He also called on other Manicaland business leaders, including Paul Tungwarara, to join the rejuvenation drive. “You come from Manicaland. You should put your hands into the football club so that the club—the pride of Manicaland—can shine in Zimbabwe,” he urged.

Kamombo said new prospective investors had already come on board after hearing of the club’s resurgence.

“We have people with Manicaland at heart. After hearing that Manica Diamonds is bouncing back, they have already come on board,” he added.

Despite the club’s recent challenges, Kamombo remained defiant. “We are here to stay,” he said, predicting a top-five finish in the premier soccer league and warning opponents: “Saka chinenge chakatochaya muSakubva stadium. We need to crush Agama zvakasimba.” meaning its going to be a highly contested competition at Sakubva stadium because we need to crush Agama.
