BBC Zimbabwe reported on Thursday that residents in Mazoe are facing increasing difficulties accessing clean water. The report highlighted concerns that water sources are being contaminated or destroyed due to Chinese mining operations in the area.

Speaking to BBC Zimbabwe, one local resident said, “This is not just a problem of water. What we are seeing—the contamination, the shortages—is a symptom of a deeper issue.”

The resident continued, “The real problem is ZANU PF. If you remove ZANU PF, all these symptoms will disappear. We believe in nonviolent resistance; historically, the success rate is 73%.”

The situation underscores the frustration of communities dealing with both environmental and political challenges. Residents are calling for immediate solutions to safeguard their water supply and ensure sustainable living conditions
