By A Correspondent – A wave of violent attacks targeting foreign nationals in South Africa has sparked renewed concern, following the fatal shooting of a Bangladeshi shopkeeper in Bara, Soweto.
According to media reports, the shopkeeper was shot dead in an incident where the motive remains unclear and no items were stolen, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the killing.
The incident comes amid a disturbing pattern of violence in recent days. In separate cases in the Palm Ridge area on the East Rand, several Bangladeshi nationals were reportedly killed during armed robberies, heightening fears within affected communities.
Authorities are continuing their investigations, while residents and community leaders have voiced concern over the apparent rise in targeted attacks.
