Tinotenda Hove- Presidential adviser Paul Tungwarara has announced a financial reward package for a number of Zanu PF social media activists, popularly known as Varakashi, in recognition of their efforts in defending President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his family.

The announcement follows growing debate among ruling party supporters after political commentator Rutendo Matinyarare recently received a vehicle reward, prompting some activists to question whether others who had publicly championed the President’s cause would also be acknowledged.

Addressing the matter on Monday, Tungwarara revealed that selected party loyalists would each receive US$10,000 as a gesture of appreciation for their commitment.

“I wish to reward these comrades who fought by all means to protect the President by providing them with a token of appreciation of USD$10,000 per person,” he said.

According to Tungwarara, the beneficiaries played a significant role in defending Mnangagwa and the First Family during periods of intense criticism.

“During the period when Matinyarare was attacking the President, these individuals did everything within their power to defend him and the First Family,” he said.

In addition to the cash awards, Tungwarara said his microfinance institution would make affordable funding available to the recipients to help them establish or expand income-generating projects.

“Furthermore, I will instruct my microfinance institution to offer them low-cost loans to help kickstart their small businesses,” he said.
He congratulated the activists and encouraged them to continue promoting the President’s vision and safeguarding Zimbabwe’s reputation.

“Congratulations to you all. Stay blessed, and continue to protect the President and the image of our country,” said Tungwarara.
Those named as beneficiaries include Snowball, Mukungunugwa, Kudzai Mutisi, Jones Musara, Bashona, Padare-Enkundleni, Alligator, Pardon, Muchinamuhombe, Dr Ruru, Cindy Soko, Shumbakadzi, Zimfit, Musikavanhu, Tino Chibage, Garson, Shangrila, Christine Charumbira and Marxwell Haitengeswi.

Tungwarara ended his message with a brief blessing, saying: “God bless you.”
