Tinotenda Hove- Masvingo United has been thrown into turmoil after club Brand Ambassador Collen Maboke resigned on Saturday, blaming fallout from a presidential pledge that failed to materialize.

Maboke said the infighting at the club had escalated to the point where it was now affecting his legal practice, leaving him with no choice but to quit with immediate effect.

In his resignation letter he stated:
_“I inform the club, Masvingo United Football Club, through your good office, that I have ceased my role and duties as the brand ambassador for the club with immediate effect.”_

He added:
_“The competing interests of the club and the legal practice known as Ruvengo Maboke and Company Legal Practitioners, cannot be compromised on my account.”_

The resignation comes amid growing divisions over a commitment made by President Emmerson Mnangagwa at the start of the season. The President had promised club owner Una a team bus and US$150,000.

Months later, nothing has been delivered. The unfulfilled promise has fueled mistrust, accusations, and deep splits between players and officials.

The club has remained silent on the matter. But a source inside Masvingo United described the situation as dire.

_“There is a lot of confusion and division in the club at the moment. The atmosphere is no longer healthy, and the issues surrounding the promised donation have only made matters worse,”_ the insider said.
