By A Correspondent – Masvingo is in mourning following the death of Sir Tabe, the father of Mayor Aleck Tabe.

Human rights defender Prosper Tiringindi confirmed the passing in a statement, saying it was a heavy blow to the family and the wider community.

“It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we received the devastating news of the passing of Sir Tabe, former Headmaster of Rujeko Primary School and beloved father of Mayor A. Tabe,” Tiringindi said.

He described the loss as deeply felt across education circles and beyond. “This is truly a painful loss to the family, the education community, and all those whose lives were touched by his wisdom, leadership, and kindness,” he added.

Tiringindi extended condolences to the mayor, the Tabe family, and residents of Rujeko. “During this difficult time, we extend our deepest and most sincere condolences to Mayor Tabe, the Tabe family, friends, and the entire Rujeko community,” he said.

He also offered prayers for the family. “May God grant the family strength and comfort in this moment of grief, and may the soul of Sir Tabe rest in eternal peace.”

Sir Tabe will be buried next Wednesday.
