Harare – Police in Harare are hunting for a 30 year-old man accused of fatally stabbing his younger brother during a violent dispute over a missing US$50 note at their family home in Sunningdale 2.

The suspect, Emmanuel Makazi, allegedly attacked his brother Munashe Makazi (22) at around 1830 hours on 20 July 2026 following an argument over the missing cash.

According to a statement issued by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), Emmanuel allegedly stabbed Munashe once in the chest with a sharp object before fleeing the scene. The victim died from his injuries at the residence.

The ZRP has launched a manhunt for the suspect and is appealing to the public for information that could lead to his arrest.

“Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Emmanuel Makazi is urged to report at any nearest Police Station or contact the National Complaints Desk on (0242) 703631 or WhatsApp on 0712 800197,” the police statement read.

Investigations are ongoing.
