Tinotenda Hove – Zimbabwean sungura music icon Alick Macheso has reassured his supporters that he is safe after being involved in a road traffic accident on Sunday morning.

The accident occurred near Blue Ridge Complex along the Harare–Mutoko Highway when the vehicle Macheso was travelling in collided with a kombi. Fortunately, the celebrated musician escaped without injuries.
His manager and publicist, Tich Makahamadze, confirmed that Macheso was seated in the back seat at the time of the crash and was not harmed.

“There is no cause for alarm. He is safe and sound and resting at home. I can confirm that our boss, Alick Macheso, was involved in an accident early Sunday morning on his way from a show near Blue Ridge Complex along the Harare-Mutoko Highway,” said Makahamadze.

“He was merely a passenger occupying the back seat when the accident occurred.”
Makahamadze also dismissed widespread speculation that the luxury 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE 400d gifted to Macheso by businessman Wicknell Chivayo was involved in the crash. He clarified that the vehicle involved was instead a Toyota Fortuner GD6.

In a message shared on social media, Macheso thanked fans for their prayers and support following the incident.

“I was recently involved in a road traffic accident. By the grace of God, I am safe and in good condition. I sincerely thank everyone for your prayers, love, and concern. Your support means a great deal to my family and me,” wrote Macheso.
