The Labour Economists and Afrikan Democrats (LEAD) unequivocally condemn the inflammatory remarks issued by former U.S. President Donald J. Trump regarding South Africa and the G20 Summit.
His statement is laden with racism, falsehoods, and neo-colonial arrogance, which is an affront not only to South Africa but to the dignity and sovereignty of the entire African continent
Trump’s claims of so-called “white genocide” in South Africa are not only baseless, they are a long-discredited far-right conspiracy theory designed to demonize Africans, inflame global racial tensions, and resurrect colonial narratives of “white victimhood” in African spaces. No credible international body, including the United Nations, the African Union, Human Rights Watch, or Amnesty International, has ever validated this propaganda.
Africa rejects these lies with the contempt they deserve.
1. AFRICA IS NOT SUBJECT TO AMERICAN DICTATES
South Africa is a sovereign nation that does not require instructions, validation, or threats from Washington. Africa’s participation in global forums is not at the mercy of US political tantrums.
If the United States chooses to weaponize the G20 for domestic politics and withdraw from African-led engagements, that decision injures no one but the United States itself.
2. TRUMP CANNOT LECTURE AFRICA ON HUMAN RIGHTS
It is hypocritical for Donald Trump to accuse Africa of human rights abuses while the United States stands guilty of:
▪︎ Genocide of Indigenous Americans
▪︎ Centuries of slavery and Jim Crow
▪︎ Institutionalized racism and police executions of Black people
▪︎ Illegal invasions of sovereign nations
▪︎ Exploitative corporate plunder of African natural resources
▪︎ Caging migrant children at its border
The US is in no position to lecture Africa on humanity, justice, or morality.
3. A FRAGILE WHITE SUPREMACIST NARRATIVE WILL NOT DICTATE AFRICA’S DESTINY
The “white genocide” myth has been a rallying cry for extremists seeking justification to interfere in African land reform, sovereignty, and political affairs.
Africa has long suffered under the lie that African self-determination is a “threat.” LEAD rejects this with clarity: land reform and the right to self-governance are non-negotiable pillars of African liberation.
4. AFRICA WILL NOT BE BULLIED OUT OF GLOBAL LEADERSHIP
Trump claims South Africa is “not worthy of membership anywhere.” Let it be known:
▪︎ Africa built global civilization.
▪︎ Africa is home to the world’s richest natural resources.
▪︎ Africa is emerging as a key geopolitical and economic player.
No racist insult can erase Africa’s place on the world stage.
If the 2026 G20 in Miami excludes South Africa, it is not South Africa that is diminished. It is the credibility of the G20 itself.
5. CUTTING “AID” IS NOT A THREAT—IT IS LIBERATION
If the United States halts aid or “subsidies,” Africa should celebrate. Foreign “aid” has historically been a tool of manipulation, dependency, and geopolitical control.
A self-sufficient Africa, trading within the continent under AfCFTA and strengthening BRICS partnerships, can not be blackmailed by Washington’s cheque book.
6. PAN-AFRIKANISM REMAINS OUR COMPASS
LEAD remains firm:
▪︎ Africa belongs to Africans.
▪︎ African sovereignty is non-negotiable.
▪︎ African dignity is not up for debate.
▪︎ African nations will not be bullied by Western powers clinging to their fading global dominance.
Donald Trump’s statement is a disgraceful attempt to resurrect colonial superiority complexes and fuel racial paranoia. LEAD stands in total solidarity with the people of South Africa and with all African nations targeted by racist and imperialist rhetoric.
Africa is rising.
Africa is united.
Africa will not bow.
