Tinotenda Hove – A 40-year-old man from Kwekwe, Stephen Musongwe, has been convicted of bestiality after being caught having sexual intercourse with a she-goat in Semchengwe Village, Reddiff.

The incident occurred on 14 August 2025 around 9 AM when Musongwe, a former employee of the goat’s owner, went to the pen and committed the act.

The owner reportedly caught him red-handed, prompting the offender to flee the scene. However, he was quickly identified and later arrested.

The Kwekwe Magistrates’ Court* sentenced Musongwe to six months in prison, with three months suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour. The remaining three months were suspended on the condition that he performs 105 hours of community service.

Authorities have expressed concern over the rising cases of bestiality in the country, stressing the need to protect animals and enforce laws against such “unnatural and disturbing acts.”
