Gweru– The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed a violent confrontation in Gweru on Tuesday night, which resulted in the deaths of two suspected armed robbers following a shootout with law enforcement officers.

In a brief statement released on social media, the police confirmed that the incident occurred during an operation targeting an armed robbery gang. The exchange of gunfire left two of the suspects fatally wounded.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms a shootout incident with armed robbery suspects in Gweru tonight, resulting in the deaths of two robbers,” read the post.
