Tinotenda Hove – The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has confirmed the arrest of Mberengwa East Member of Parliament, Tasara Hungwe, over allegations of concealing a personal interest in transactions connected to Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
According to ZACC, the charges stem from suspected irregularities involving the handling and use of the public funds allocated to the constituency.
Hungwe appeared before the Mberengwa Magistrate’s Court, where he was granted bail and remanded out of custody to 1 April 2026.
Authorities say further details surrounding the case will be released in due course.
