Tinotenda Hove – Controversial Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo has been at the centre of renewed political speculation after claims surfaced describing him as “President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s frontman.”

However, South African authorities have moved to dispel concerns about any active criminal probe involving him.

In an official clarification, the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), commonly known as the Hawks, confirmed that Chivayo is not currently under investigation.

The statement comes amid growing public debate and online commentary linking Chivayo to political and business dealings across borders, with some critics alleging he plays a significant role in high-level political networks.

Despite these claims, the Hawks emphasized that there is no active case against him in South Africa, effectively shutting down speculation about ongoing law enforcement action.
