Tinotenda Hove – South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has shed light on his recent visit to Zimbabwe, using official channels to outline the nature of the trip.

Ramaphosa confirmed that he travelled to Zimbabwe on Sunday for what he described as a formal working engagement with his counterpart, Emmerson Mnangagwa.

According to the South African leader, the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties and addressing matters of mutual concern affecting both nations.

He further emphasized the deep-rooted political and economic relationship between South Africa and Zimbabwe, highlighting continued cooperation in trade.

Ramaphosa noted that in 2025, South Africa exported goods valued at approximately US$4.30 billion to Zimbabwe, with agricultural products and machinery making up a significant share of that trade.
