Chitungwiza– The Zimbabwe Republic Police has launched a manhunt for a 30-year-old suspect identified as Anxious Bhonda, who is wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man following a love triangle dispute over the weekend.
According to a statement released by police, the incident occurred in Unit J, Zengeza. It is alleged that Bhonda confronted the victim, Troy Chipuriro (26), and an argument erupted over a girlfriend. During the confrontation, Bhonda allegedly produced a knife and stabbed Chipuriro on the hand and leg. The victim succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
Witnesses allege that Chipuriro, was taken as a bouncer to discipline Bhonda who had allegedly fallen in love with his friend’s girlfriend. The late Chipuriro was friends to a son of a well known traditional healer in Unit J.
It is alleged that the gang who had dogs approached Bhonda who in turn urged the gang to vacate his rented room but they refused indicating that they were baying for his blood.
Bhonda reportedly came out of his room armed with a knife and stabbed Chipuriro before fleeing the scene.
Gokwe Incident
In a separate incident, authorities are also appealing for information that could lead to the arrest of Nathan Nyoni (21). Nyoni is wanted for a murder that took place at Mutambisi Business Centre in Gokwe on February 24, 2026.
Police reports indicate that Nyoni allegedly stabbed the victim, Takudzwa Kadirongo, with a sharp object on the chest. The dispute is said to have stemmed from an argument over a paltry sum of USD $5.00. The victim died instantly from his injuries.
Police have urged anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of either suspect to contact their nearest police station.
