Tinotenda Hove- Wicknell Chivayo’s ex-wife Sonja Madzikanda on Friday made a surprise appearance at the Chivayo family home in Gletwin, Harare, joining scores of mourners paying their last respects to the late controversial businessman.

Madzikanda, who arrived in the company of her mother, was seen among family members and close friends gathered at the mansion following Chivayo’s death in a helicopter crash on Wednesday.

The late tenderpreneur died alongside his wife Lucy Muteke and three others when their helicopter crashed near Marondera.

Sources at the residence said Madzikanda’s presence drew attention as she quietly joined the mourners, putting aside past differences to honour the father of her child.

Despite their highly publicised divorce and bitter fallout, Madzikanda chose to stand with the Chivayo family during their darkest hour, in a move that has touched many.

Mourners continue to flock to the Gletwin home as the nation awaits burial arrangements for the flamboyant businessman.
