Tinotenda Hove – Masvingo City Council parking marshals were left shaken on Wednesday after a lightning bolt reportedly struck a wheel clamp they had placed on a vehicle belonging to a traditional leader — moments before the device inexplicably unlocked itself.
According to witnesses, the traditional leader immediately seized the moment, jumping into his vehicle and speeding away after the shock of the strike.
The dramatic incident unfolded around 1:30 PM along Simon Muzenda Street, opposite Bob’s Tavern at Tsungai Complex. By the time of reporting, no marshal was willing to approach the abandoned clamp, with all keeping a safe distance out of fear of a repeat strike.
