Dr Musindo Defends “Zvigananda”, Calls for Nation’s Support

Chinhoyi- Destiny for Africa Network founder and cleric Rev Dr Obediah Musindo has launched a robust defense of the country’s top multi-entrepreneurs, condemning the use of the disparaging term “Zvigananda” or “Cabal” to describe them.

Addressing pastors in Chinhoyi recently, Dr Musindo, rallied Zimbabweans to support these entrepreneurs for their economic contributions to the natio

He argued that the label unfairly tarnishes the hard work and dedication of business leaders such as Sir Wicknell Chivayo, Hon. Scott Sakupwanya, Strive Masiyiwa, and Dr. Kuda Tagwirei. He stated that these individuals are pivotal to the nation’s growth and development, operating without resorting to political slander.

“The use of terms like ‘Zvigananda’ is a deliberate attempt to disparage the diligence and commitment of our nation’s foremost job creators and investors,” Dr. Musindo said. “These men are at the forefront of building our economy, and their efforts should be celebrated, not met with derogatory slurs.”

The term “Zvigananda,” which loosely translates to “the cunning ones” or “the clique,” has gained traction in public discourse, often used to imply that the success of certain business figures is tied to opaque dealings or preferential treatment.

Dr. Musindo’s comments directly challenge this narrative, framing these entrepreneurs as essential partners in national progress. He highlighted their diverse investments across critical sectors like energy, mining, and telecommunications, which he said are creating jobs and driving economic activity.

“Instead of casting aspersions, our nation should be mobilizing to help and support these visionaries,” Dr. Musindo urged. “They are demonstrating what is possible through enterprise and are making tangible contributions to our collective future without resorting to pulling others down politically.”

The call has ignited a fresh debate on the relationship between business, public perception, and national development. While some citizens echo Dr. Musindo’s sentiments, others remain skeptical, calling for greater transparency around large-scale government contracts and private-sector dealings.

The business figures named, including international mogul Strive Masiyiwa and controversial figures like Wicknell Chivayo and Kuda Tagwirei, often find themselves in the spotlight, making Dr. Musindo’s defense a significant intervention in the ongoing conversation about wealth, influence, and patriotism in Zimbabwe.
