Tinotenda Hove – Controversial Zanu PF-linked businessman Wicknell Chivayo has once again made headlines, this time for a Facebook post detailing a recent visit to Kenya’s State House in Nairobi. The visit, Chivayo claims, was a “courtesy visit” to President William Ruto.
In his post on Thursday, Chivayo wrote: “This afternoon, I was yet again HIGHLY HONOURED to pay a courtesy visit to His Excellency, President William Ruto, at State House in Nairobi. Kenya is my SECOND HOME, and as always, His Excellency welcomes me with the GREATEST sense of belonging.”
Chivayo, who has frequently been described as a frontman for President Emmerson Mnangagwa in business circles, went on to praise President Ruto in glowing terms. “Each meeting with the President is a TREASURED opportunity, as I am consistently enriched by his infinite WISDOM on living a purposeful life that gratifies God,” he wrote.
He also reflected on Kenya’s development agenda, saying: “His Excellency THOUGHTFULLY reflected on the journey, challenges and achievements made in 2025 and shared his VISIONARY plans for Kenya in 2026. H.E. remains committed to WORKING HARD in order to make the BOTTOM-UP Economic Transformation Agenda to become a FULL reality.”
Chivayo highlighted the president’s developmental initiatives, noting: “It is a true blessing to have a leader of President Ruto’s caliber, who holds such MASSIVE developmental ambitions for the nation. His COMMITMENT to modernizing Kenya includes ensuring universal ELECTRICITY ACCESS and improving road infrastructure throughout the countryside. These initiatives promise TRANSFORMATIVE progress for us all Kenyans!”
He concluded the post with festive wishes, stating: “As this year draws to a close, I took the occasion of this visit to WISH His Excellency, the First Lady and the entire First Family a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a Prosperous 2026. I wish them good HEALTH and HAPPINESS to extend into the new year and BEYOND. I remain a proud and thankful for YOUR EXCELLENCY’s guidance. I look forward to seeing your great plans come to FRUITION in the coming year and PRAY for prosperity for our great Nation and PEOPLE of Kenya.”
Chivayo’s Facebook post has reignited discussions about the close business and political networks connecting Zimbabwean elites to regional leaders. Critics say the post underlines the controversial businessman’s influence, while supporters hail his networking as strategic diplomacy.
