By A Correspondent -A Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) officer involved in a widely circulated social media incident with a City of Harare security officer has been arrested and is facing both criminal and disciplinary proceedings.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, police confirmed that they had taken action against the constable following the incident, which attracted widespread attention on social media.

“Reference is made to an incident that went viral on social media involving a ZRP police officer and a City of Harare security personnel,” police said.

The police said the officer was now facing charges arising from the incident.

“The public is advised that the constable involved was arrested and is now facing both criminal and disciplinary charges,” the statement said.

Police indicated that further details concerning the case would be made public as investigations and disciplinary proceedings progress.

“More details will be released on 19/08/26,” police said.
