ZRP Appeals for Public Help After Viral Child Abuse Video

Tinotenda Hove – The Zimbabwe Republic Police has issued an urgent appeal to the public following the circulation of a disturbing viral video showing a woman allegedly abusing a minor.


In a statement, the ZRP said it had taken note of the footage, which shows a woman assaulting a child and forcing the minor to touch a blazing gas stove.


“The ZRP has taken note of a disturbing viral video involving a child abuse incident circulating on social media platforms in which a woman is clearly seen assaulting a minor and forcing the child to touch a blazing gas stove,” the police said.


Authorities are now appealing to members of the public to assist in identifying the suspect captured in the video, with the aim of facilitating her arrest.


“The ZRP is appealing for information which may assist in the identification and subsequent arrest of the suspect captured in the video,” the statement added.


Police have also urged the child’s relatives or guardians to come forward and report the matter at their nearest police station to aid ongoing investigations.


“Meanwhile, the relatives or guardians of the minor are urged to come forward and report the matter at any nearest police station to facilitate investigations,” the ZRP said.


The police assured the public that swift action will be taken once the suspect is apprehended.
“The ZRP assures the public that once the suspect is arrested, she will face the full wrath of the law, including charges of attempted murder.”
