Tinotenda Hove – A photo circulating on social media has triggered widespread debate after a staunch Zanu PF supporter was seen pushing a handcart while fully dressed in party regalia.
The image, shared on the Zanu PF Supporters Facebook page on Tuesday, shows the man struggling to move a loaded cart — a sight that many Zimbabweans say mirrors the country’s deepening economic struggles.
In a caption accompanying the image, the page wrote: “Ndiani anoziva uyu ndine pasuru yake. Haungapfeke all Zanu wopusha ngoro ka.” (Who knows this man? I have a parcel for him. You can’t wear full Zanu PF regalia and push a cart.)
The post quickly went viral, attracting mixed reactions. Some social media users mocked the contradiction between political loyalty and economic hardship, while others defended the man, arguing that honest work should never be a source of shame.
However, critics say the image paints a clear picture of the broken promises under Zanu PF’s rule — where even loyal supporters continue to battle poverty despite decades of pledges for empowerment and prosperity.
