Harare- DRAVENTO Car Hire Resorts will host its inaugural Dravento Golf Day 2026 on September 3 at Wingate Golf Club under the theme “Powering the Future, Driving the Impact.”

Announcing the event at a press conference in Harare, Dravento chief executive officer (CEO) Maureen Mbondiah said the tournament will go beyond sport to unite businesses, professionals and communities around networking, partnerships and social impact.

“Today is more than a press conference. It is the beginning of the final countdown to a day that we believe will bring together businesses, networking, partnerships and social impact in a meaningful way,” Mbondiah said.

She said golf provides a unique platform where conversations and relationships happen naturally.

“This golf day is not simply about who wins. It will be about what we can achieve off the course. How can our businesses, our networks and our resources create opportunities for others? That is the impact that we intend to drive.”

Focusing on youth and digital empowerment, the CEO told the media that “a key pillar of the initiative is empowering young people, particularly young women.”

Mbondiah also highlighted Dravento’s Maintenance Academy which has already trained more than 200 young women with vocational skills in Chitungwiza.

According to her, proceeds and partnerships from the Golf Day will be channeled toward strengthening these programs and supporting digital empowerment for disadvantaged youth.

“We want to create an environment where a young girl who may not have access to a computer today can have the opportunity to learn, to develop digital skills and dream bigger for tomorrow,” she added.

As a company in transport, Dravento provides car hire, chauffeur services, and air ticketing.

Mbondiah said the company is now using its platform to contribute more broadly to national development.

“We believe that the private sector has an important role to play in building a stronger Zimbabwe… where business success is measured not just by financial performance, but by the positive difference we make in our communities.”
