Tinotenda Hove – The family of celebrated musician Nicholas “Madzibaba” Zakaria confirmed his passing in a statement released on Thursday morning.

In the announcement, the family expressed deep sorrow, saying: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nicholas Zakaria, the talented musician and beloved member of our community.” He was also known across the nation as the “Senior Lecturer,” a title earned through his immense contribution to Zimbabwean music and the mentorship he offered to many artists.

They highlighted his lasting impact on the industry, noting: “Nicholas left an indelible mark on the music world with his inspiring voice and dedication to his craft.” The family added that his legacy would continue through the songs and lives he touched, stating: “His legacy will live on through his music, and he will be deeply missed by fans and loved ones.”
