Tinotenda Hove- Opposition politician Benefit Chikomo has alleged that his life is in danger, claiming he is being targeted by Zanu PF and state security agents because of his outspoken opposition to the Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB3).

Speaking in an interview with the Masvingo Mirror this week, Chikomo, who recently returned to Zimbabwe after spending time outside the country to launch the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), said he believes he is under surveillance.

He alleged that individuals linked to Zanu PF and the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) are following him with the intention of harming him.

“The Zanu PF people want to kill me. It’s because I don’t like the CAB3 sh*t… CIOs want to kill me. Zanu PF spooks are trailing me because they want to kill me,” Chikomo told the Masvingo Mirror.

His remarks come amid continuing political debate surrounding CAB3, which has attracted both support and criticism from different political players and civil society groups.

Zanu PF has not publicly responded to Chikomo’s allegations.
