Muzarabani- Muzarabani South legislator and Deputy Minister of Local Government and Public Works, Benjamin Kabikira, has donated 13 wheelchairs to people living with disabilities across various wards in his constituency, in a move hailed as a shining example of compassionate leadership.

The donation, described by residents as “life‑changing,” saw Kabikira personally delivering the wheelchairs to beneficiaries’ homes, where he spent time sharing meals and listening to their stories.

“This is not just about giving aid; it’s about restoring dignity and showing that no one is left behind,” he said during one of the visits.

But Kabikira’s commitment to Muzarabani South goes far beyond mobility assistance. He has spearheaded major education infrastructure projects, including the construction of classroom blocks, toilets, and teachers’ houses.

In some cases, he even provided manual labor to cut costs, working side by side with community members to ensure projects were completed.

“Hon. Kabikira is a true leader who listens to the needs of his people and works tirelessly to address them,” said one resident, reflecting the widespread gratitude among constituents.

The Deputy Minister has also prioritized youth and girl‑child empowerment, particularly through sports and education.

Last year, he donated soccer balls and jerseys to local teams and sponsored prize money for competitions, fostering teamwork and community spirit.

His efforts have earned praise not only for him but also for President Emerson Mnangagwa’s appointment of leaders who deliver tangible results.

“We thank the President for giving us a leader who is transforming Muzarabani South into a middle‑class constituency,” said another community member.

As Kabikira continues his hands‑on approach to development, residents remain optimistic that Muzarabani South will become a model of inclusive growth and progress in Zimbabwe.
