Tinotenda Hove – President Emmerson Mnangagwa is set to address the nation next Tuesday during a joint sitting of Parliament, where he will outline the government’s legislative agenda for the Third Session of the 10th Parliament.

The President will also deliver the highly anticipated State of the Nation Address (SONA), at a time when the country is grappling with rising social and economic tensions.

According to a public notice issued by Parliament on Thursday under General Notice 2162 of 2025, “His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Honourable Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa will, in terms of section 140(1) of the Constitution, address a joint sitting of the Senate and the National Assembly on Tuesday, the 28th of October, 2025, at 1200 hours, during which he will set out the Government’s legislative agenda for the Third Session of the Tenth Parliament.”

The notice further stated that “in terms of section 140(4) of the Constitution, the President will deliver the State of the Nation Address.”

The announcement was signed by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. T. Gezi.

Mnangagwa’s upcoming address is expected to focus on key national priorities, including economic recovery, governance reforms, and social stability, as citizens increasingly voice frustration over the rising cost of living and limited job opportunities.
