Tinotenda Hove – Alick Macheso has paused his upcoming shows this week as he mourns the passing of his long-time mentor and sungura pioneer, Nicholas “Madzibaba” Zakaria.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Macheso conveyed his grief and notified supporters of the cancellations.

Macheso said: “Vatsigiri, tine hurombo nekumisa mamwe ema shows atanga takaronga vhiki rino.”

The affected shows include:

• PHIL-JEN County Lodge, Chivhu
• Blueridge Restaurant, Mutoko Road
