Tinotenda Hove- Hip-hop musician Mukudzei Chitsama, popularly known as Holy Ten, has scored a major legal reprieve after a rape charge involving a minor was withdrawn before plea at the Harare Magistrates’ Court due to insufficient evidence.
The development means the musician will not face trial on the charge, which was withdrawn before he could enter a plea.
Speaking following the court development, Holy Ten’s lawyer dismissed the allegations as bogus, arguing that there was no evidence capable of sustaining a trial against his client.
“This is the end of it,” the lawyer said.
Holy Ten also appeared to react to the development with the words “lies have short legs”, seemingly expressing relief after the withdrawal of the charge.
The withdrawal brings the current court proceedings to an end without a trial or a judicial determination of the allegations on their merits.
